We are proud to announce that Family Promise of Berks County has been selected to receive a vital grant from the Good Neighbor Fund, administered by the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation (LVCF), with support from the PPL Foundation. This award will enable us to expand our rent and utility assistance services—helping local families stay safe, warm, and secure in their homes.
What This Grant Means for Our Community
The Good Neighbor Fund is designed to relieve the growing burden of energy costs for households in eastern and central Pennsylvania. Grants range from $2,500 to $20,000, capped at $1,000 per household, and are intended to assist families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level.
With these funds, Family Promise of Berks County can deliver efficient, tangible support to families struggling to cover utilities—whether for electricity, fuel, oil, or other essential heating sources.
A Timely Investment in Stability
Rising energy costs are a real and pressing challenge for many of the families we serve. By tapping into the Good Neighbor Fund’s resources, we’re able to respond quickly—and with dignity—to help families keep the lights on and avoid choosing between utilities and other basic needs.
Thank You to Our Supporters
We are incredibly grateful to the PPL Foundation and LVCF for their continued belief in frontline organizations like ours. This grant empowers us not just to serve more families—but to do so with agility and impact.
To our donors, volunteers, and neighbors: thank you for ensuring that no family in Berks County must endure the fear or uncertainty of not being able to pay for basic living expenses.
