Every Path Forward Starts with a First Step
For many families in Berks County, housing instability isn’t just a moment—it’s a cycle. At Family Promise of Berks County, we meet people where they are and walk with them toward lasting change.
Our Hospitality Network supports families experiencing homelessness by providing safe shelter, trauma-informed case management and warm meals provided by a community of welcoming congregations. While parents focus on rebuilding stability, kids stay close—together under one roof.
For young adults navigating life on their own, the U-Turn program offers more than just a place to land. With a Drop-In Center, mentoring, and goal-setting support, youth ages 17–24 find a community that helps them take control of their future—through education, employment, and community resources.
And for families on the edge, our Rent and Utility Assistance program steps in to prevent crisis before it starts. Temporary help with rent or bills can mean the difference between staying in a home or losing it altogether.
These aren’t just programs. They’re lifelines. Whether someone needs a fresh start, a second chance, or simply a hand to hold while they find their footing—Family Promise is there.
